The Final Revelation
Mental Patient, St Mary Bethlehem Hospital
Abraham Kale is a former tutor at a Seminary, now a patient at St Mary Bethlehem Hospital, a mental hospital in south London.
He is an old and distracted man, with white hair and a beard, both cut immaculately by the nurses. His right arm was severely injured during the Boer War.
Having been in hospital two years, he is institutionalised, unsure of his own thoughts and obedient to the staff. He shuffles about in slippers and dressing-gown.
